X-Line?

A lot of people have said they are taking off X-Line on their configurations. What is that?

Also affects front and rear bumpers (titanium-look colour) and door sills

Have they? I was planning on adding, why are they taking off?

They don't like it

I think it depends on the body colour how well it works. The thread where the question was originally has a Black Sapphire without it (or rather removed due to the option pack the US must have) and it looks really good.

How come I cannot remove the X-Line package off the Premium Package when I build my X3 online? Can I still remove it when I actually order my X3 (I'm waiting for M-Sport Package)?

I took xline off aswell on my space grey x3 and I think it looks a lot better. The xline looks like an after thought IMHO.

See pics of it on the pictures thread

I think the x-line looks good on black also…different tastes. I'll be keeping it on the order. Its the aluminum trim on the front lower grill, the window surrounds, roof rails and back bumper trim piece. Here is a vid where you can see it.

well, 2/3 isn't bad Bimmer!

It's also debatable if it's worth getting it on titanium silver but I have ordered mine with xline after seeing a t silve with xline and wanting the same look

It's very subjective but I have to say I like the recent pics posted by AlpineWeiss a lot.

^ This. I think it looks good on certain colours, such as darskiczd's sparkling bronze and the mineral silver car in press photos.

It's not a normal option. It's special order, which is subject to a $400 fee. You will have to ask your sales if he can get it done for you. If you get M-sport package, it should come with the gloss black shadow line trim.

I like it, and I especially like the metal sill in the trunk: more resistant and better looking IMO. This is the beauty of being able to choose - lots of different combinations to experiment with!

The bummer here in Sweden is that satin roof rails are standard, which makes especially black cars look a bit odd w/o X-line. Unfortunately seems impossible to order w/o roof rails.

I've ordered mine Alpine White, but will be doing up the roof rails in black later on.
