Safety Recall....BMW Canada
I got a letter from BMW Canada...
Vacuum Pump Oil Supply...that needs to replaced.... They don;t have the part yet, but they will call upon all once the part is in. Year 2012-2014: 3 series, 3 series Touring, 5 Series, X1, X3, & Z4. (almost all models!!!) My guess is that it also applies to the US models as they are built in the same location. |

I believe that is the recall that is related to the brakes and applies to those with 28i's and not 35i's.

I have a 2013 28 xdrive and haven't received the notice yet, but my mom has a 2013 328i xdrive and she got her notice back in November.

I ended up calling when I first heard of this, just to make sure I wasn't a part of it since I have a 28i from that range. Turns out my info was wrong in the system anyway so it was good I called.

Transport Canada noted that BMW notified them the parts have been obtained in the last while .. so the notifications should be going out in the next two weeks...

so I just had mine done on Monday this week.
They just installed the camshaft spacer - no replacement. It was logged under bulletin 11 81 14RC 0011220300. Part number was 11-31-8-632-503. The whole process took roughly 2.5 hours including oil change. |
