Reset Service Reminder

I just took my X3 to the dealer for its first service at 15k miles, and the idiots in the service drive forgot to reset my service indicator so it's still telling me I need to bring it in in like 100 miles. Can I reset this myself to avoid having to go back to the dealer or do I need to go down there again?

This should work on our F25 (but I'm not sure). No harm in trying:

All doors closed. Turn ignition on and do not start the engine.
Hold the ODO button for 10 seconds
The menu will show up with the current warning ready to be reset, if not, push the ODO button to cycle thru the options. Once you get the option you want like oil service push on the ODO again and hold and you will get the Reset? with a question mark. Push and HOLD the ODO button once more until you get the Resetting indicator showing progress and then completion. Release the ODO button and you are done.

Or maybe:

Turn on ignition.
Push odo button for 10 seconds.
Enter the sum of the last five numbers of your vin in the code by pressing the odo button.
You'll enter into the menu, by pressing the odo button you can make your changes.

Give it a try and report back.

Don't feel bad

Ours says it doesn't need service until 2020, seriously

Check the date on your idrive/dash display. I know my time/date settings were lost and my service interval went to some crazy date. Worth checking...

You rock. Not only did this work, it gave me a bunch of cool info too:
