Alloy Wheel Lacquer Peeling
Just noticed that the lacquer on my Y Spoke 305 alloys is starting to peel and corrosion of parts of the alloys is starting underneath where the lacquer has lifted. Also appears to be some 'veining' type marks starting underneath bits where the lacquer has not lifted so the lacquer must be porous. Mainly on front wheels.
Must be very poor quality lacquer that has been applied, car is only 10 months old. There has been no excessive exposure to salt as the council near where we live rarely grits our roads. Not impressed never had this problem with previous BMW alloys. Are other people experiencing similar issues? Car is UK spec. Time for another trip back to dealers!- Although I am enjoying the driving experience I am losing faith in the quality of the BMW product. For a £40K car this is not acceptable. |

Had it happen on my old E90 and E87 before that. Stealer tried to fob me off that it was caused due to kerbing, but no sign of kerbing on the wheel. Make sure you take no brown stuff from them.
