Dynamic Damping Control, only 2 settings?

I was reading through the US manual and noticed under Dynamic Damping control (page 88) they say there is only a normal and sport setting, not a sport +, looks like the sport + is only for the DDC (Dynamic Driving Control) and effects transmission only, not suspension.

So Damping control gives you normal or sport, base car has normal, Sport Package and M Package have sport? I know some people are saying the Sport and M Sport packages also have normal suspension but I have read a few articles saying otherwise (can't remember where and don't feel like looking them up again, but I do know car magazines can be wrong).

It's not clear that Sport + does anything othe than disabling DSC (enabling DTC).

My X5 has the "Normal / Sport" control option, and you can tell the difference. Though it's an X5 of course and never quite feels like my 3 Series.

Yes, only 2 settings according to the manual. Referring to BMW ETK, fixed-setting M-sports suspension shares the same springs & rollbars as the VDC system, so if sports setting of VDC (it only changes damping modes) = fixed-setting M-sport, then normal setting of VDC will still be firmer than fixed-setting standard suspension as the VDC uses firmer springs from the M-sports.
The question is, how firm riding is VDC in sports setting? If one can live with the ride quality in that mode then may as well save money by opting for M-sport suspension instead.
