Trouble connecting to xHP flash tool with iPhone 7+

Anyone else face this and get over it?

I’m running xHP on iPhone 7+ with recent iOS update.

I attached a pic of the Ethernet to lighting adaptor, and running same yellow OBD2 to Ethernet that works great for bm3.

I also tried setting static IP, no help.

Ideas?

Garage List
unfortunately, you need one of the "approved" obd2 adapters that xHP has listed on their website, their software specifically looks for one of those and will not work otherwise.

Right, especially wireless ones. So my bimmecode wireless adapter is useless.

But, my Ethernet to lightning is the same as they recommend in the manual.

I have a feeling I need to give the xHP Flashtool app permissions to use the Ethernet port on the phone...

I’d hate to drop yet another $75 or whatever on a THOR.

And to make things worse... tried connecting to the BMW Connected app today, it sends the 6-digit code to the Connected Msg on the car, i input the code on my phone app, and it says it’s the wrong code. Again, and again, and again...

Just a frustrating day. Hopefully tomorrow everything just “works”

Fixed and flashed!

Uninstalled and reinstalled the app, verified adapter functionality on my router, still faced same issue.

Frustrated but trying anything, after giving up and heading out to work (essential worker today) I tried connecting the app while the engine was running and it connected finally! So I pulled over and flashed.

Flashing went fast, but was hokey to start, it gave mixed messages regarding having the engine running or not running, but after a few attempts, it worked without the engine running and now I’m Stage 3 transmission tune, waiting for the 50 mile break in period to end before giving it a good workout
