is this a problem?

I'm shopping online for an X3 and one of the photos (see attached) has me concerned. It's an M package and it looks like the side trim is either damaged or popping off. Is this a common problem (2014) or more of an indication of damage? Can it be popped back into place or does it need to be replaced?

I noticed a similar issue on one of my side sills. If you open the door there is a little cap and a screw behind it. Think it just needs tightening.
