Delivery of BMW X3
Hi, my sales rep, who I am not completely satisfied with, another story, advised me by email today on the status of my X3 I ordered July 6h. The email mentioned the status as " Railhead". The vehicle is being shipped to Canada. As he is now on vacation can anyone clarify the status. Thanks in advance.

Haven't heard that before in referring to the BMW shipping routine, but since a "railhead" is the end terminal of a railroad, to me it would imply that your car made it to the closest rail terminal and is either on its way to your dealership on a truck, or will be shortly.
However that's just a guess, and your CA may have meant that they got a better price from another customer who happens to be a railroad enthusiast, and sold it to him! Why not phone your dealership and ask them to clarify where your car is? Certainly there is someone else there who can do it. |

lol ....thanks, in reading many of these forums I never heard of that term before either. I just wanted to get more information or an update on my vehicle before I call the sales manager. Not sure if I am getting a run around here. Damn excited about my first BMW but so far the sales experience has been poor. Thanks for you help.

I won't worry too much. The dealership is not usually aware of exactly where the car is or when it will arrive once it has been shipped from SC bu rail.
Usually you can figure it will show up in a couple weeks. I don't think you are being abused here.

My sales rep emailed me last week with the day the train is due in Vancouver (23rd by the way so getting excited) along with the railcar # etc. From the screen I saw at the dealer they get pretty accurate dates.

I'm glad I live on the east coast. My car was finished yesterday 8/17 and they told me it would be trucked to the dealer. I'm hoping to get it Saturday or next week at the latest.
