Tire Pressure

19" 309s staggered setup (F245/45/19 R275/40/19)

I was displeased with the harsh ride quality, so I decided to check my tire pressures.

The recommended psi are F32 R35 for the staggered setup. The dealer had filled the front left to 35 psi, the front right to 37 psi, and the rears to 36 psi. I let some air out to reach the recommended psi.

The difference is SPECTACULAR. Most of the interior rattles are gone, and the car rides much smoother than before. I'm not afraid to put the suspension into Sport anymore.

I'm so happy!

Nice one . I have the same staggered 309 setup and use 31F, 33R to 32F, 35R. No problems with the ride or any rattles.

Wifey's were set at 34F and 37R for staggered 309 setup. At least you can see how they arrived at those numbers.

Funny. I got my first new BMW home years ago, and was REALLY second guessing my decision to have gone with the sport package -- which was not available when I test drove.

Turns out the tire pressures were set at 48 psi!!!!!!!!

Possibly the penalty for insisting on picking up the car right at opening time, on a Monday.

It’s amazing how few dealerships properly inflate the tires.
I always bring a tire gage with me when I take delivery and set the tires to the recommended pressure.

I like this approach and it also serves as a message to the dealership about what you think of their competence

To be fair to my dealer, my tyres at pick up were bang on the recommended 2.0F, 2.2R
