Passenger Window Dead
Well, add me to the list of people whose passenger side window regulator took a crap. Window wouldn't roll up and dash display showed anti-pinch feature malfunction. Unfortunately, it looks like this part can take anywhere from a week to a month to get since they are having to come from Germany. Car was built in late July.

That sucks! I can't believe on the "other" forum how many X's have had this happen! Looks like it is going to be a widespread problem Every time I put my window down now, I'm wondering if it is going to crap out on me. Could you imagine if it were pouring down rain or if you were on a roadtrip and this happened? I'd be furious!! Keep us posted as to how long they say it will be before the parts come in.

So, just came back from the dealer. They already had a few of these regulators on order so they just added my name to the list. They are saying last week of August, first week of September before they get the part. Good thing I was able to get the window all the way up...for now we've kept the X3 and just put a sticker over the window switches.

Window regulators are a "common" problem since 15 years
I don't know anybody that never changed one. I changed this part probably 7 times on my previous cars. They might keep using the same design that always fail in the same area (wire attachment). |

Maybe its common on BMW's but I have NEVER had one replaced on any vehicle I have ever owned and I have had some of them for 7+ years. From what I've read on BMW's, it has always been a problem. Don't think this is the norm in the auto industry.

Yep, never heard of this either and no problems with previous VWs and Audis. So far so good on the X3

I have had to have the window regulator replaced on my current and previous cars. Seat Cupra and Seat Altea XL, both just out of warranty at the time the windows failed, £150 charge each time. Don't now want the same issue on a BMW.

After about 1800 miles this is my first glitch, but an irritating one. I was also told it would take about 3 weeks before the part would arrive from Germany. After reading the above and similar posts elsewhere, it seems like a known problem that should have been corrected by now.
