Temperature Display
Hello all,
Just joined the forum as I just purchased a 2011 X3 28i. Two weeks in and I am absolutely loving it. The only issue I am having is I cannot get the temperature display to stay on Celsius. Every time I turn the car off it reverts back to Fahrenheit. Living in Canada this is extremely frustrating as I don't know Fahrenheit. I searched all the old posts but couldn't find any similar issues. Does anyone know how to solve this issue? Thanks! |

Try this:
C to F: Multiply the temperature by 2 and then add 30 (actual formula is multiply by 1.8, add 32) ex: 22 C is roughly equal to 74 degrees using my method, actual conversion is 71.6 F to C: Now just work it backwards, subtract 30 from the temp. and then divide by 2 (again, actual formula constants are 1.8 and 32) |

Yeah I've tried changing it but as soon as I turn the car off it goes back to Fahrenheit. In the idrive settings I go to language/units and change from F to C. It is the only setting that I can't get to stay. I have changed the time and any other settings I wanted and had no issues with those.

Nope Canadian. Since this doesn't seem to be a common issue I guess I will just have to wait until my next service. That is 10,000kms away though so I guess I will keep boning up on my Fahrenheit conversion!

why don't u go to the dealer now? or it doesn't hurt to call them. I guess it is most likely a programming issue. Mine constantly shows Celsius.

You could try changing the setting in the idrive and then saving the settings as an alternative user name. That might keep the settings when you use that particular key fob. You could also try logging on to connected drive (you need an account set up). From there you can create a new set of defaults for a named user. You can save the file on a USB stick and download it in the car. Probably worth a go.

Change the setting then program it to one of the 1-8 buttons. |
