Waxing new X3?

New X3 is on it\'s way to the dealer so plan to be picking up this week. Due to it being December and would like to get some protection on the new paint. How long should I wait to wax?

If In the south with no salt and snow I would put a pure Carnauba wax no cleaners on the car. Then seal it after a few months from the production date. The paint cures quicky. Remeber the paints baked at very hot temps after its sprayed. The manufacture ovens are much hotter than a normal down-draft paint booth. Sealers will do what they say seal the paint like a nanotechnology product. If you have salt and snow then put a sealer on after 30 days from production thiis should be good.

Two products that are not $$

PS21 Pure wax no cleaners it will only last two months.
Mequires NXT Wax is will seal pores 6 + months.

With BMW's new water based paints they are rock hard after 3 weeks. Do not apply anything to the paint prior to 3 weeks from production as it has not completely cured. The previous baked enamels only took a couple of days but the greenies ruined that process a few years back.

Wax is fine if you like doing it, and doing it, and doing it forever and a day. But if you want better protection than wax, nanotechnology, much, much better water beading, super easy washing, protection from bugs and sap and something that will last years then check out GTechniq C1. It's the best there is.
