n20 engine is getting some good reviews on the X1's, 528's and the Z4 2.8i's.
I drove an x1 for 4 months as a company car and it was a blast. The 8 speed transmission with more torque and more hp then the outgoing n52 it was certainly zippy. Grips: sliiight lag... and I mean very slight compared to the instant power of the n52. - sounded like a diesel... very tingy. The n52 sounded very good under load. You shouldn't be disappointed if you think the n52 moves the X3 enough... the n20 will be slightly faster and better

I am a happy owner of a new X1 xdrive 20i with automatic 8-gear box (steptronic).
After 1,500 km, i am surprised by the power of the 184-ps twin turbo charged engine plus the low noise level. With heavy right foot, fuel consumption averages 12.2 lt/100km. The only complain is the poor sound quality offered by the standard audio system (so i already ordered the upgrade kit!) |
