Can I get wood trim with leatherette?

I want to buy a 2012 X3 28i with leatherette but I'd also like to have the wood trim. This is what I have on my current car, a 330i. The packages and options lead me to believe that I can only get wood if I order the premium package. I'm asking this question because I have seen pics on this forum that show leatherette-equipped cars that do have wood trim.

Here is the link to a thread that shows leatherette and wood trim on an X3:

I just noticed that these pics are from an owner in Canada whereas I am in the US, so that may be why leatherette and wood trim can be ordered together.

Look at the Build Your Own section of the BMW USA website. It appears that wood trim is not available on a 28i unless you order the Premium Package. Leather or Leatherette doesn't matter. On a 35i Fineline Sienna wood trim is the default, and Leather or Leatherette doesn't matter.

If you are unable to order it, I have a full set of the lighter wood trim for the x3 that I intended to put on eBay one day. Be aware that the installation is NOT trivial. You have to remove the interior door panels, as the door wood trim is actually attached via screws that are accessed from the inside of the door panel.

hmm, interesting I'd love to have the brushed aluminum without ordering the sport pkg.

BTW, are there any service manuals for the F25 available to download?

02420X3-That's how I see it too. It appears that in Canada you can order wood trim without premium but not in the US.

Alanintx-I'll keep that in mind I don't think I want to get that involved. I will settle for the plastic trim that is painted silver if I can't get wood trim.

Oh well, since I don't live in Canada I'll have to go with the matte silver trim. I'm sure it will be good quality.

Thanks for the replies.

Just recived our new BMW X3 yesturday. The siver base trim is good and feels like metal not plastic.

Fasttoys-
That's good news. I'm pretty sure that I won't be able to see any non-premium X3's at the dealership, so I can only rely on what others have to say about the quality.
