A slightly different view of the X3
This blog has some great posts about their long-term tests of the X3. This particular entry looks at the X3 from a perspective that we don't always get to see.

Thanks, great link!
Those undercarriage photos are appreciated. Among other things, they show how hard it would be to get to the transmission parking release lever if you needed to. There's also next to nothing hanging out to be snagged by rocks and such, and that bottom shrouding has to help fuel economy. Oh, and those NACA ducts aren't real, although they could be in the future. |

Thanks for the post and links! I was curious what the undercarriage looked like. The front section looks like it is sealed off well. What are the holes in the front wheel well for? Seems like an odd place to have holes given everything else is sealed up. I guess it is where cold air is taken in?

Thanks for the links - informative stuff! What I thought was also interesting was this link concerning the sun visors: http://blogs.insideline.com/roadtest...rs-needed.html . This has been driving me nuts!!! Any idea? I'll be making a separate post on this subject

That would be plastic and is used to minimize under-body wind turbulence improving efficiency.
