Chrome to Black
I wanted to share my repainted exhaust tips for my 2013 F25. I like many did not like the black soot all over the chrome tips so I decided to have them powder coated black. I took them to a local powder coater and they were able to get them back to me within a week. Cost was $116 including tax. I think they look pretty good. They even did the inside of the tips!

On my vehicle (can't say it is uniform for all BMW's) they are held on with friction clips so just twist and pull. It is tight and takes a little effort but they do come off.

Your first pic is w/o the chrome covers. Not sure the powder coat is my favorite. Will still turn dull black with use vice the shine in the photo. For me, I think I prefer to simply clean them.

Your statements are true. I just wanted something different plus I don't think the exhaust tips will be as obvious when they are dirty with the black vs. chrome.
