Driver Assistance Package (ZDA) in Canada for MY2013 ??

In the USA MY2013 X3press bulletin, BMWNA announced that the Driver Assistance Package (ZDA) would be available as a new option.

I reviewed the (2) Canadian MY2013 pdf docs that were previously posted on this Thread and noticed that in Canada there is no mention of the Driver Assistance Package (ZDA) and the (2) associated features: (5AD) Lane Departure + (5AG) Active Blind Spot Detection.
All other new options (i.e Auto start/stop; Power tailgate; Driving Dynamics e/w ECO pro) were included in Canada.

BMW Canada responded to me this morning re: missing (ZDA) package ...
"At this point in time, we have no information about what new features will be available on any of our upcoming 2013 BMW models. Please visit our website, bmw.ca, as we will announce all new product updates there."

somf, I think you are mistaken about the power liftgate in Canada. It is only available on the 35i as part of a $4000 premium package package or the $2300 executive package on the 28i.

Hi ibjgh:
You are correct re: the power liftgate in Canada. It is only available on the 35i as part of a $4000 premium package package or the $2300 executive package on the 28i.

I was just going through the entire checklist of features/options on the pdf's and noticed that the Driver Assistance Package (ZDA) and the (2) associated features: (5AD) Lane Departure + (5AG) Active Blind Spot Detection were missing on CDN MY2013.

Have "Active Blind Spot Detection" on my current Q5 and find it a great safety feature.

I've never had a car with blind spot detection but I then again I just adjust my mirrors to avoid the blind spot. I suppose all it takes is to 'help' avoid one accident and it pays for itself.
