possible to track the transportation ship via google maps or something?
Hi fellow Bimmer lovers,
I was searching the net a bit to see if i could find an interactive map to track where the ship containing my car is at the moment but I couldn't find anything. anybody knows if there is this type of functionality available somewhere... so a google map like function where you can see the location of the ship? I know this is a bit of *bs* but i was just thinking on how cool it would be to put this map on my desktop until the boat arrives with my new X3... that way I can see it every day a bit closer to its new home :-D Yup, I'm a freak My car is on the ship with voyage number: UB112-ITG, who else is on that one? |

As Bill has said, http://www.marinetraffic.com is a good site. May not work in the middle of the Atlantic but as the ship approaches the English Channel it gets much more accurate. I was logging on regularly when mine was sailing up the Channel and in and out of Gothenburg (wife rolling eyes whenever she caught me on the website!). There are also webcams at some of the ports if you're super keen but I couldn't see much. Some more info for the fanatics here
