iDrive Display Replacement

The California sun burnt two big black spots on the display. I am debating if I should replace the screen only or try to upgrade with the displays with Android Auto and CarPlay.

Especially, what are the options to go with the latter route. I am OK with removing dash/trims to install. Bu then how will it look?

Never saw that before. There are lots of threads on screen replacement with Android screens of various sizes and lots of pics what it looks like. Best if you just do some searches and read some of the threads.
