Ground Clearance (in.) 8.00 is what I have found at MSn Autos and Edmunds. That should be very close.

Wanted to rehash this since we have quite a no of deliveries of msport. Other forums suggest bmw msport are slightly lowered. So does anyone know with certainity the ground clearance of the M-Sport and the non M-sport X3?

I downloaded pictures of the M Sport and non M Sport from the BMW configurator and proceeded to quickly switch between them in the Windows picture viewer. No difference in height.

No difference in the US - same height regardless - check website, brochure, and owner's handbook.

The Norwegian list of options: "226 Sports suspencion without lowering"

That's pretty clear...

Factory Specs for X3 and X3 M-sport are the same:
Ground Clearance = 212 mm (8.346 inches - unladen)
Max Ramp Angle = 19.4 degrees
Max wading depth (5 mph max) = 500mm (19.685 inches)
Amazing, because it puts the entire exhaust system, front and rear differentials, transfer case and half of the transmission totally under water!
(However, no 1-meter deep river crossings)

As far as I know it's not lowered. It has different dampers I think.

Nice pics!

And the lowering is an optical illusion... like 10 others have already said...

Not an optical illusion - it's magic: It's lowered, but has the same ground clearance. The tires actually float slightly above the ground using BMWMAGLEV technology. Really limits the available traction, but the ride is great!
