Comfort Access: Unlock rear doors?
Scenario:
with Comfort Access option 1) Inside vehicle. 2) Doors all locked. 3) Unlock driver door via two pulls on the door handle. 4) Driver door only is unlocked. 5) Walk around to passenger door with fob in pocket. 6) Grab door handle. 7) Passenger door unlocks. There is no way to unlock either of the rear doors unless I either get the fob out of my pocket and unlock the doors OR use the central locking button on the dash to unlock the doors. Is this true? Any way to unlock ALL doors when I unlock/open the driver's door? The menu option to unlock all doors only seems to affect the locks when you use the fob button. Am I missing something? Coding opportunity? I've been looking at the locking related function values. |

Using iDrive I just disable the locking feature as the car goes into motion.
No worries about unlocking doors once I hit my destination. I also set the comfort access to unlock all doors. p.s. you could always just unlock the doors by the interior button too.

The iDrive menu option should set the vehicle to unlock all doors when you touch the handle, as mentioned.
For coding, you can make it so when you shut off the vehicle via the start/stop button, all of the doors unlock at that point as well. This is only available via coding not through iDrive. |

You're looking for a way to unlock all doors from inside the vehicle that's easier than pushing a single button? What could that be? A mind reading sensor?

I'm trying to unlock the REAR doors from the OUTSIDE. What I'm trying to do is just get my stuff off of the back seat once I've gotten out of the driver's door (which unlocks it) without having to push the central locking button (inside) or digging the key fob out of my pocket. If the vehicle could be set to unlock ALL doors when I open the driver's door handle from the inside--I'd be in business. Sounds like I'll have to code for unlock all doors on OFF button. |

I got that. Just hit the unlock button before getting out of the car. Then it takes one less pull to open the driver's door, so it's not so much an extra effort, and a single button press is a pretty simple solution.

When I grab the passenger side door handle on the outside, it unlocks all the doors. Its always been this way on our car. However, I always just hit the central unlocking button if I need to get anything out of the back seats. I guess I could set it to unlock all door when your grab the drivers side door handle, but I'd rather not do that.

The rear doors cannot be unlocked by touching the handle. They do not have the technology built in (hence there are no bumps on the handle). I usually just grab the passenger handle to unlock all doors.

Either hit the central unlock inside as suggested or grab the passenger handle outside. It is nice to have the options.
