New X3!
Just took delivery of a new '15 X3. Ordered on 1/19, delivered on 1/29! Holy moly was it built fast! Coming out of a '12 528i.
Car as built: X3 xDrive28i Space Gray Metallic Ivory White Nevada Leather w/ red contrast stitching Aluminum Trim M Sport Driver Assistance Package Dynamic Handling Package Lighting Package (Xenon) Premium Package Technology Package Rear manual side window shades Heated front seats So far, absolutely in love! Had DHP in 528 and was not willing to go forward without. Glad I went with the M Sport w/ sport seats since I was coming from the 5 comfort seats. I will miss them, but the added height of the X car, plus sport seats made the loss a little more reasonable. Love the HUD in full color, lighting (and LED fogs), LOVE the interior color with aluminum trim - adds a nice coolness contrast to the alcantara. Size for family of 4 is just right with two kiddos in seats in the back, trunk space is excellent. When I need it to be sporty, it does great, and in daily driving, in traffic, it is smooth as silk. So far, I am in love! First SUV, and a winner at that! Looking forward to reading more here! Last edited by skiajl6297; 02-03-2015 at 02:21 PM.. Reason: Fixed dates - whoops! |

Whoops - yes ordered in January, not February! I am still writing down 2014 as the year. I'll figure it out soon!
Thanks for the kind replies. In DC area, so dealer was able to jump on an existing car headed into production rather quickly, and customize. I sure did luck out. Pics will be posted soon - now that the car is dirty with salt spray! Thankfully the gray should help mask some of the ugly winter stuff. Ha! More to come with pics too... |

Very nice! Would like to see some pictures of the interior too! Wish I had the guts for Ivory white interior.

Haven't had time to do proper photos, but some interior snaps from this morning's commute!
Forgive the intrusion of the family! Hoping to get more shots this weekend, sans humans. |

Jealous, I love that red stitching! I didn't want to give up the tail gate opening with your foot option/heated wheel that you loose with the M package so I was very sad that wasn't an option when I ordered. But perhaps that was a good thing since I'm not sure how clean I could keep light colored seats :P interior looks Amazing!!

GRRRREAT color combination and Congrats!! But how does she sound? Many people have said their x28i models sound not so BMWish... I doubt that since you've got the M Sport Package (which i believe includes the M Performance Exhaust)

It sounds fine but I am the first to admit I am not an exhaust guy.
Some early observations that I kind of was surprised at regarding the drive. Coming from a 528i with dynamic handling - the comfort mode in the X is nice and smooth, similar to comfort plus in the 528, but even softer. The sport mode really tightens things up on the X as well, and is similar to the sport mode on the 5er. I haven't actually looked at weight comparison, but the X feels quite a bit peppier on the throttle than the same engine'd 528! Dynamic handling is something that I personally am not willing to give up now that I have had it. Truly offers split personality options for the same car - and in daily driving in DC area, I am first to admit that I need it. Sometimes I am just cruising at highway speed or sitting in stopped traffic. Comfort is lovely. Sometimes I need to merge and really be peppy, and sport is perfect for that. And of course, on weekends or times when I just feel like driving more spirited, sport comes through again. Most of my excitement is truthfully due to this being my first SUV experience, so simple things like drive height make a difference. Rear sunshades are worth 2x the cost when you have a southbound commute and a 4 year old parked next to the window! Really loving the xenons (similar to 528) really just outstanding brightness - and I am very pleased with the led fogs particularly for cornering lighting. Regarding the trunk release foot thing - I don't miss it particularly, and I think the upgraded seats and overall exterior aesthetic (plus steering wheel) more than makes up for that loss with M Sport. I do think it is silly they haven't been able to fit the sensor in a different bumper, but hey, what can you do. Every time I get in the car I am glad I ordered this color combo. The light leather, aluminum, and stitching really make it pop inside - and offer nice contrast to the dark blacks of the rest of the interior. Also I am impressed with the wheels! They are a shade darker gray than I expected, and I really truly dig them. Will try to get pics of the wheels up soon. So far, completely satisfied with the car! I don't know if I would have been so courageous when ordering color combo if I wasn't leasing! Will be interesting to see how it wears with two kiddos in the back! |

[QUOTE=VinX3;17354580]The heated steering wheel is available for M sport now.
too many rules on what goes with what... I can't keep up with it, I lucked out that I wasn't digging the M sport look in general saved me some cash but i had no problems finding other stuff to take all that money away. |
