Is this sound the timing chain problem?
See if you can tell this means I have to change the timing chain and all tensioners. Or is this something else, like rubber bands?
More audible in wet weather conditions, with cold engine. The other day I was at the mechanic, they changed all sorts on it, listened to it, they didn't hear a thing, couldn't show them this sound then. BMW X3 F25 2013 270.000km. Don't know if it ever was changed. Thank you, |

Sounds like the serpentine belt. I have the same sound on my X3 20D. And that wheel thingy, what is it can't remember vibration damper or whatever is wiggling like crazy. Don't take my word for it. But look out.

When I spray even with water, it goes away temporarily. Thank you guys for the replies. I’m relieved that it’s not the chain.
Will replace the belt when I get to a service. |
