Ordered 10/20/11: '12 X3 35i M Sport
I thought like others I'd track my order process for you all.
So after a very short and easy sales process, I put down my deposit yesterday for a 2012 X3 35i. I've been very happy with my '07 335i but with 2 kids, no room for my road bikes/golf clubs and a lot of miles, it was time for an upgrade...actually I just wanted something shiny and new. Here are my options: http://www.bmwusa.com/Standard/Conte...tionId=2073074 X3 35i - Carbon Black with Mojave Leather and Fineline Wave Wood M Sport Premium Premium Sound Technology Cold Weather 1 BMW Apps MSRP as equipped: $55,375 My price: $52,250 plus $10,000 for my 335i as is (110K miles, cracked windshield, tires with >25% tread, needs new brakes, manufacaturer buyback) They were very transparent with me, showing me their cost, invoice and working toward a win-win deal with me. Order went in the system on 10/20/11. They told me to expect it just before Thanksgiving, but based on experience of others here, I think they are under promising. I'll keep this up to date for other members who are considering going this route. They are also checking the schedule for a possible factory delivery depending if I can swing it with my schedule. ---------------------------------------- Updates: ---------------------------------------- edit: 10/21/11 - Dealer called and said expect delivery around November 16th. edit: 10/26/11 - SA sent me my VIN and Prod # this morning...sweet, I'm in "Production Begins"! The 800# was more specific and said completion date is 10/31/11. edit: 11/01/11 - BMW USA 800# says "Released to Carrier" edit: 11/08/11 - Delivered to my dealer, picking it up tomorrow night! ---------------------------------------- Better Pics - 11/25/11 ---------------------------------------- Here are some new pics of my 2 week old freshly detailed 2012 X3 35i. It's Carbon Black with the Mojave interior. I tried a few different lighting options to show what the Mojave looks like in different light. I took some in the direct light so you can see just how blue Carbon Black is. Love the color. Oh, and another recommendation for AutoLavish in Metro Detroit for another awesome detail. http://www.autolavish.com or http://www.facebook.com/autolavish Last edited by laimbeer; 11-25-2011 at 10:39 PM.. |

yeah I think just before thanksgiving is a bit long, unless their slots were filled, does your status say documented on the tracking system? if so I would expect 3-4 weeks until you can pick it up, I will let you know when I get mine (Started a thread just like this) which was "order documented" on Oct 10 and going to the midwest as well.
For the question about rates, payment: PNC is offering 2.75% on new cars up to $50K loan plus I bank with them and get another .25% off for doing a direct payment. My dealership said they could probably beat it, but I am not going through the hassle of them sending my info to 5 different banks and having them all do a credit check on me just so I could get 2.25%, I am happy with 2.5%. BMW finance is currently 4.9% |

Replied to your PM. It's extremely clean, other than the cracked windshield. I just looked and the tires only have 25K on them and considering my last set of Continentals went 55K, you should get another 20-30K from this set. Otherwise, needs a car wash. Interior is spotless. I have clients in my car weekly, so I keep it super clean.

Ultimately, I buy on bottom line price because I typically just pay vehicles off 1-2 years after taking delivery. As for payment, that's going to depend but I'm planning to throw another $20K at it for a DP and finance the balance of $25Kish. If I was going to pay it over time, that would be $450 or so a month. If you want any assistance figuring out your payments, let me know or you can download a simple loan amortization worksheet in MS Excel which will do all of the work for you. |

Ha, I've used this name on forums since the late 90s. It's a dumb story why but to answer your question...no relation to the former NBA bad boy. Although I have met Bill a few times and he's a really nice guy.

We have the same color schemes.. My order was put in Oct 1 for Carbon Black, Msport, Mojave, Sienna, however I chose the 2.8I... Was scheduled for the 44th week. It still shows "in production" on Oct 30.. Patiently waiting...

I called the 800# over the weekend and it's much more specific. It said mine will be complete today. Hope that means it will be on truck yet this week! |

I will check the 800 #. That seems more accurate from what I have read.. Glad we found each other... (both of us MSU alums and Bimmer owners) Drive a 08 328i..

I saw others received their car within a few days of build out, so I thought that I was going to have it last week but transport took longer than expected. Also, the 800# and website both said "At Your Dealer" on Monday, but the truck actually arrived on Wednesday AM. It was worth the wait. Your dealer should be able to give you a pretty accurate estimate to what day the truck will arrive. |

She looks absolutely outstanding in every way. The paint color and interior color is perfect. Exterior is dark enough to provide a super clean reflective look, but with a hint of blue to keep things interesting and unique, and the interior is dark enough to not be a maintenance nightmare, but once again isn't your run of the mill black.
Great pics, but I don't know if anything compares to how she looks in person. |
