Portable Tire Inflator

I am considering the purchase of a portable 12volt tire inflator as I convert to non run flat tires. Since I do not plan to carry a spare tire this seems like a good option. Does anyone have experience with the portable or 120volt tire inflators?

I have a cheap 12v inflator I bought at Wal Mart for under $20. Works great on the bikes, wifes Volvo, and my X3. No need to spend a lot. It also stores in that trunk space where the tool kit is.

My X3 came with non RFT tyres, so it also came with an 12 Volt pump and goo kit. Never had need to use it ... yet.
I have a cheap 12 volt inflator- I tried it inflating an airbed. It took forever. Only good for topping up tyre pressure.
I need to try the BMW unit to see of its any better.

I travel a lot and even though I have run flats I carry one with me, along with some fix a flat. I got mine from Sears for $30-$40. I also travel with a portable booster battery pack.

Get a CTEK battery charger and give the battery a charge once in a while particularly in winter.
