Winter driving 2: wow...love the blizzaks!

There were spinouts and accidents happening allover the place - you should see a couple in the vid (one in the median and one off on the side). It was really nasty slippery out there and the blizzaks continue to amaze

Good video. Next time though I think you should carry a chain around and pull some of those poor people out of the snow banks.

Nice red light at 1:20.
You were lucky there was nobody at the intersection, sliding into you.

Does anyone actually get flat tires now days?

I'd bet most people wouldn't even know where the spare tire was if their car was so equipped.

I slowed for the car that was about to come into my lane...I was in the intersection when it changed, but thanks for noticing

We had our first snowfall of the year today here in NJ, and I had a chance to try the X3 with WS-70's for this first time. The roads are very icy, and temps have stayed in the 20's all day.

This car is fantastic with the Blizzaks. The stopping and steering abilities are tremendous! No drama, no white knuckles. This thing just goes, and steers, and stops.

I've had the same good experience with the Blizzak WS70 tires on my 2012 X3 here in Colorado. My OEM tires are the Goodyear Eagle LS2 runflats, size 245/50R18 on Type 307 wheels. The Eagles are OK on freshly plowed and de-iced roads, but offer very little traction in standing snow over 4" deep.

Some trivia: I purchased the Blizzaks mounted on 4 MSW Type 22 wheels in size 225/60R17 from Tire Rack. Tire Rack recommended the size, and as usual they were correct. The Blizzaks are about 3/4" taller than the Goodyears. A Blizzak on an MSW Type 22 wheel weighs 50.4 pounds; a Goodyear on a Type 307 wheel weighs 67 pounds. I checked the speedometer with the Blizzaks on against my Garmin GPS and found almost no difference in MPH. I carry a "Slime" kit with compressor, purchased from Amazon.com, "just in case."

Winter with WS 70 Blizzacks

I did the same thing; i.e., ordering Tire Rack's suggested wheels and WS-70s in the size as in the above post. First ice and snow down here was this weekend. Everything went well without a even a swerve on the ice. The Tire Rack's after-market, non-silver, wheels even somehow complement the Deep Sea Blue paint of my X3 somehow. However, I am carrying a summer wheel and tire in the "trunk" for extra rear weight.
