Air Vent on X3 vs. X1

Hi guys,

I was hoping someone would have an opinion on this. As you know, my 2011 X3 35i has been in the BMW dealership getting the power steerting rack replaced due to the error code. The dealership gave me a 2012 X1 as a loaner.

When I turn on the heat vent at the lowest or second lowest setting to point at the "face", the force of the air coming out of the vent is alot stronger in the X1 than it is in my X3. I would have to turn it 3/4 up on the X3 to have the same vent 'force' as the X1. I questioned the BMW technician about this and was told this is normal and that the heating system in the X1 is different than in the X3.

I don't really buy this story and wanted to see if you guys had any experience or input on this observation of mine.

Thanks,

V
