LED taillights

Hey guys need ur help. Just got my new x3 a couple of days ago n i noticed that my led taillights do not turn on only the break lights. I called bmw n was advise to take it in for service. It might be a fuse or wiring. The vehicle only has 200 miles. Is there a software update were we can make them work? I need advice

The 2013 X3 has "adaptive" tail lights - what do you see?

If its a fuse, they would replace it, if it's a bulb, they would probably replace the bulb. If there is a problem with the led strip, they would replace the whole assembly , don't panic man, they got you covered :P

I have not seen (yet, any day now will take delivery) but the '13 owners manual says the tail lights indicate force of braking. With more rapid braking/deceleration the inner lights on the lift gate are added to the outer ones. ...will be interested to see it...

When you say don't turn on - you have switched the lights on and not relied on the daylight running lights to be illuminated in auto position? (The rear lights don't come on with daylight running lights)

+1 you must have Xenon headlights for the rear LED "running lights".
The brake lights on all models are conventional incandescent bulbs... Why BMW did this makes no sense...

This is personally one of the few gripes I have about the car - oh, in addition to the omission of LED turn signals front/rear!
