Take it or leave it?
Dealer has a Metallic black 35i on the lot with 300 test drive miles on it. It has the premium package, cold weather package, sport activity package, Nav, Power tailgate, comfort access keyless entry & park distance control. It stickers for 52,225 & they are offering it to me for 48,725. Looks to be 200 over invoice. I planned on ordering either a metallic black or mineral silver
35i but hadn't made my mind up yet on colors. My concern with this vehicle is how it was driven during test drives. If it was anything like mine (pedal to the floor), how could that be good for it during its break in period when you're supposed to baby it? Don't want to pass up a good deal, but is this deal good enough, or should I just and order one? Opinions? |

The Power tailgate is an option I was not all that thrilled about, but now that I have it I am appreciating it. And I would not go without the Nav. I say go for it.

I would take it, instead of waiting for one for months. But I would surely ask for invoice and also few additional items, like floor mats, cargo tray, mud flaps etc... also like MA78 suggested ask them for extended warranty, I am not sure if they will agree though, since its a lot of money, but you can surely justify, that the car was test driven for first 300 miles which is a crucial period and it may contribute to any issues that you might encounter in furture. Physically check for any scuffs and visual damages etc...before you sign the deal. Good Luck.

I'd say take it, seems like a pretty good price for what you're getting. Before signing the papers make sure to give the car a good look around and see if anything is amiss, scratches, tires/rims, etc. You didn't mention what color the interior is but I assume it's black? Reason why I ask is because a X3 I was interested in at a dealership had beige interior with 500 miles on it and by that time the seat edges closest to the doors were already stained blue from people's jeans.

Just used to having a back up camera as my MDX had it & so does my Murano now. Nice to be able to see scooters and bikes and kids behind you when backing out of the garage. Wonder if the PDC picks up things like that?

TAKE IT.
That's a good price for all of those options. I don't think the test drive thing is a big deal--I doubt anyone would really drive it into the ground--I mean, even if the salesperson isn't with you, you don't want to crash the thing. |

Well, the decision was made for me. Called the dealer tonight to see about "extras" they could throw in to make me close the deal, but turns out they sold it this afternoon! There was a message on my cell that a couple was at the dealer and was interested in it and to please call immediately if I wanted the vehicle, otherwise they were selling it to the couple that was there. I didn't get the message until late today and when I called tonight, they confirmed it was sold. Oh well, looks like I was meant to order and wait for it.

I already emailed them tonight and told them $500 over invoice is what I want....otherwise, I'll be buying somewhere else. Priced everything out for them (MSRP, Invoice) and now the ball is in their court. I'll place the order with them as soon as they agree to the price. I'll keep you posted!
