Brand new, many problems

I am experiencing the following problems:

- extremely bumpy, bouncy ride at low speeds on roads with no noticeable potholes or bumps. The bounce comes i all directions and out of the blue.

- start and stop acceleration especially when going slowly up a hill

- sudden acceleration for no reason on a flat road

- hard down shifting when slowing down to stop or turn that causes the car to slow down dramatically and without warning

From the other forums I gather these are suspension problems as this is much more than a standard sporty suspension, this is bounce things into ceiling and lose your coffee rocky as well as the AT problems.

I am very disappointed. These cannot be designed into the car as: 1. others do not have these problems, 2. they are really, really bad on a brand new car.

Very happy owner!

Have had a lot of Bm's trought the years, and all I can say that I've been very happy with this 2006 X3 (3.0da). It's fast and comfy.

Only problem is that (learning)tranny that sometimes does crazy stuff, next 60tkm service will get new porgrams installed to get that fixed.

I have to admit that I didin't like the X3 before i bought one, but now I just love it.

The AT problems started in the 6 speed 2007's and are still with us in 2009.

Just wondering if any owners have had serious problems
Got stuck twice, once in my driveway (30 degree angle) starting from inside my garage and once on a completely flat surface. Same days, same places my 535i xDrive drove through like it was nothing. On the X3 didn't matter whether DSC/DTS was on or off. It was going nowhere in 5 inches of snow. Required being towed from the flat snow packed surface and shoveling my drive, when I was in a hurry to get it out. Dealership ran diagnostics and says nothing is wrong with the xDrive. One tech told me it was because of the Sport Package, another said it wasn't.

Personally I wouldn't get another X3. Will probably replace it with a 550 or whatever they are going to call it when it comes out with xDrive and 535's motor.

I had service at 60k (3 months ago) and the tranny problem is solved after new program has been installed.

Picked up an 05' CPO last month and then a couple days ago had coolant leaking on the driveway. Immediately drove it to dealer. They gave me an 2010 X3 to drive home. They ended up repairing that day and actually delivered the car to my house (45 mins away). They ended up replacing a coolant bottle that had become brittle and cracked along with a thermostat housing and some hoses. All covered under CPO. Cost me the $50 deductible.

Probably the best dealer service I have ever experienced. Brian Jessel BMW in Vancouver.

2006 X3 with premium, steptronic, cold weather pkg, heated steering, tinted windows, ipod adapter, with 58k miles since new.
Other than scheduled service, the driver's seat heater shorted right before the warranty expired (thankfully). I plan to keep the car for a while, so I extended the service contract ($1900), but not the warranty. New brakes done last month under the contract, and I did a wheel alignment at the same time as I had recently replaced the original tires. I'm hoping in another 30k miles, BMW has a diesel X3 in the USA!

Update....Posted too soon! Two weeks went by and I needed an AC recharge for $250!

2006 BMW X3 3.0 with 55k miles.... problems

Hey guys. I just became the used '06 BMW X3 3.0i owner with 55k miles and here's what I have the problems with. When I get a flat tire I usually stop somewhere at the gas station right away to pump some air but the RFT light is still on for like another 30-40 miles or so which is really bothers me. makes me stop more often to check the pressure. Tried clicking on that button with the flat tire but doesn't help. Always have the pressure as it says on the door sticker 29 psi front / 32 rears.

I used to be a Honda Accord owner and noticed a HUUGE difference in MPG. Instruction says something around 16-17mpg. What I really get is 12-13 in the city and 23-24hwy. I'm not an aggressive driver at all. My RPM doesn't go higher that 2600-2700. Its mostly me or me and my gf in the car (not fully loaded)... Understand that since I got the used vehicle with 50k miles there's no guarantee that I'll be happy enough to get at least 10% more that the MPG BMW states. I checked the battery / alternator. Both are in perfect condition. I've read somewhere that Denso Iridium spark plugs might help and the overall car performance will be higher. Are they any better than Bosch spark plugs? The regular price they get sold on eBay is around $50 for 6 of them with delivery. Isn't it kinda too much for that?

Also, what's the best place to buy the parts for BMW (original / not original).
I would appreciate any kind of advice for the brand new owner of a not really new BMW. Thanks a lot.

Reverse Problems with my BMW X3

Hullo - have an annoying problem with my BMW X3 . The cars is fine except when I reverse , occasionally the engine stutters and goes dead . When the car restarts I am able to reverse. Dont have any type of problem driving forward. Its is a 2009 , 2.5SI X3 . Have sent it twice to BMW service centre and each time they send it back it works for two weeks and the problem reoccurs. Hope somebody has an insight as this problem is really bugging me.

04 X3 where to buy cheaper parts?

we just bought this x3 7days ago and after it had oil changed, the warning lights keeps blinking. So we checked it to a reliable mechanics and they say the problem was the catalytic converter needs to be replaced.. Actually the two of them and one would cost $1400 mega bucks! I need help, anyone can help me solve with this problem??? the yellow blinker is annoying...

2 Major issues

1st Issue
Emissions warning light came on.
Took the car into the dealer and they would change "a sensor" and light would go out for a day.
This went on for a few weeks!
In the end BMW central made the dealer take the engine out completely, strip it down clean and refit. This fixed the issue, but it was a nightmare. Fortunately the car was still under warranty
2nd Issue
X Drive problem.
When you changed gear, there was a clonk sound. And it felt as if the Front wheels and rear wheels were fighting each other.
This turned out to be Cheap tires which the previous owner had fitted.
Something to do with confusing the 4x4 system.
Drive way better now

I have a problem with the widow washer fluid level. I've filled it a couple of times and within a couple of days the "low fluid" warning light comes on and sure enough there's only about a quarter of the container filled with fluid. I can't seem to find any leaks and hadn't used the pump the last time and it still leaked out "somewhere". Anyone experience this ??
