Winterizing a X3 for the Far North

Greetings.

I live in Interior Alaska and picked up a 2010 X3 last summer. The car appears to have lived in the southwest and had 59K miles.

I have picked up a trickle charter to mount under the hood and will plug into a picktail on cold nights/days. I also have an oil pan heater on the way.

Is anyone familiar with install of a transmission heater for this model? I am told the friendlies in Germany do not make vehicles that take block heaters so adding the transmission heater is what I'm left with doing.

BTW - I have decades of cold weather living/driving experience so no need to chim in about washer fluids and checking tire pressure : )

thanks for any suggestions. (not much out there on Youtube land).
