Need Help. No power in the 12V outlet..Wheres is the FuseChart??
Hi guys I need help, I have no power in the 12v outlet in the midconsole , forward and to the rear seats.
I think i had a shortcut, well my wife had one :-) she usually puts the keys in the cupholder, and there was no plug in the 12v outlet, probably a key that shortcutted the circuit..... ??? My question.. wheres the fuse??? I found the places for the fuses in the glove department and in the trunk, but I dont have the fusemap to tell me which fuse has what purpose.. Where is the fusechart in the car?? WHERE CAN I FIND THIS "FUSECHART" ONLINE? THANKS Last edited by X3andZ4owner; 01-09-2012 at 04:21 PM.. |

Same thing
Same thing happened to me under the same circumstances.
I was able to remove and replace all the possible fuses behind the glove box using the fuse clamp that is also located on the fuse panel at the rear of the car near the fuse chart. Vi måste vara försiktigt då våra fruar köra bilarna! |

Interesting that the 20A fuse (54) blew while the 5A (1) did not in a previous incident.

Fuses blow based on their i*2t characteristics and are mainly affected by Load current, rate of rise of current, operating voltage, ac or dc current, operating temperature. Same fuse may work differently in different networks, so it is not just a amperage rating of the fuse. But you are right if some one puts 5A and 20 A fuses in series ( though no one would do that), 5 A fuse is likely to blow first. Last edited by April1; 01-10-2012 at 10:01 AM.. |

Had same issue on my 2012 X3. A charger for my GPS dropped a metal button into
the cig lighter receptacle between cupholders and blew the outlet fuse. Both the cig lighter 12v outlet and the outlet in the back seat behind center console were no longer working. I checked Fuse #54 (20amp) in fuse block behind glove box (through the small hole) and the fuse was indeed blown. Replaced #54 and now both outlets are working again. The fuse was difficult to reach thru the small hole in glove box. It helped using a long pair of needle nose pliers to reach #54 while shining flashlight thru smaller opening. what a chore - not sure why BMW has to make this so difficult to reach. |

I had the same problem, after reading the above posts changed fuse no 54 (bit of a pain to change) that solved the problem, so thanks to all above for your help
