I was able to get it running by right clicking and selecting the compatibility mode so it would run under windows XP.

So I finally got program install (manually) and did the basic codes on F25 cheat sheet plus removed seat belt chime. Didn't have time to explore more. Is this the thread we want to post coding wish lists and findings or should we start a new F25 coding thread for that and leave this for installation issues?

Many expressed to me that they could use the Setup utility and install the entire package in few minutes whereas you had problems in using the utility. The Setup utility assumes a folder structure and if it does not find in that order, it keeps on complaining. I would add the folder structure in the step by step instructions but would like to hear from you about the issues faced by you and what was actually wrong.

EDIABAS.INI

E-Sys_3.18.4 will have two sub folders and a file:

E-sys 3.18.4 (IS THIS THE .EXE FILE OR FOLDER?)
E-Sys 3.18.nfo

Also where does the EDIABAS folder go? Any help would be appreciated!
This was my folder structure. Kept giving me error on missing folder E-sys_3.18.4. I renamed and still same error. I then downloaded from different source the E-Sys files with correctly named folder and still same error. I tried on 2 different computers also. Not a big deal, installing manually is easy enough. Your cable worked great so thanks for that!

Thanks for the info.

Good that it warned you of a missing folder and didn't proceed rather than installing it incorrectly.

Intension was to use the just downloaded files without making any modifications but it seems different sources have different structures. I may have to add a pictorial check point before one starts installing the software as plain text does not give a realistic view. See above, though I said it contains two folders and a file, a question was asked if it is a folder or a file. It's my duty to make it more clearer for users and I will do it now. Thanks BMWs.

I wish we had a low cost storage server available to us, where we could have made a complete bundle for people to download and click and go.

I think the pictorial view would help. I was still not clear of the 2nd sub-folder that was suppose to be in the E-Sys_3.18.4 folder. Anything that will get more people to start coding would help the community find more cool options!

I vote for a new thread! This one is great for installation and getting started issues. Hope we can have it made sticky (moderator?).

Many members have shown interest in going in for simple coding and asked me if I can make an ENET cable for them. Yes if you do not want to make your own cable for any reason, I can definitely help you.

Some have asked if I can provide a complete bundle to them including SW, yes that is possible but this is an expensive proposition as I need to buy a 32GB USB flash drive to load the SW. Yes, if you do not want to struggle to get all pieces together, I can definitely help.

PM me separately, don't load this thread with your queries.

Got my cable today and was able to code a few things:

-A.S.S. off by default
-Close tailgate by remote and drivers side button
-Close windows, sunroof, fold mirrors by remote
-Removed idrive disclaimer

Will definitely code more as other functions are discovered.
Thanks for the writeup and the cable April1!

I'd actaully like to try out the feature to see if the car stays any cooler while parked in the sun. Thanks in advance.
Options are to set the timer(s) when the car is on so they'll activate later, or after turning off the car, select the upper check box to activate it immediately.

Based on feedback from users, i added few modifications:

Cheat sheet simplified to help beginners. It includes few but interesting features good enough for a beginner.

Also added bmwInstall folder organization in case one wants to use automatic installer " Setup_3.18.4.v2.bat" given in attachment. Hope this adds better visibility.

On the X3, are those the 3 LED's or the single amber bulb?

Looks good!
Maybe include a copy of or link to the F10 cheat sheet..? I ended up using that one because I found the formatting easier to read than the previous version of the F25 cheat sheet.

Ahh...the Egg Yolk...I'm not sure on that one. Personally, I would leave them enabled, and just replace the bulbs with Solaris Electrum InvisiBulbs, ULTRABRIGHT edition, which are clear when off, and amber when illuminated:

http://www.bimmian.com/Solaris-Invis...om-Bimmian.com

Here they are for the F25:

http://www.bimmian.com/SOL/25

Solaris UltraBright Halogen Bulbs (Amber or Super White) $15 - $20 / pair
Solaris LED Bulbs (Without Resistors - Amber or 6000k White) $20 - $30 / pair
Solaris LED Bulbs (With Resistors - Amber or 6000k White) $30 - $40 / pair

Software Removed !!!

Too bad the software links were removed.

I guess our forum administrators want us to stop coding.

Can anyone PM me links to the software for our F25 ?

Many Thanks

The heat is on, and all forums are removing direct software links, not just x3bimmers.com, and all the Admins want is to avoid being taken down.
