New F25 30d M Sport+

I collected my new 30d M Sport 2 weeks ago and have to admit it's got some lovely touches. Love the pan roof, HUD, pro media, reversing camera and Harman Kardon system.
Only thing I'm not too sure about is 390 miles on a full tank, I swear I read something about an Eco button, I will have to get the manual out and try and find that..!!!

Welcome to the forum. Enjoy the car. You should get an average of around 37 mpg from the car once it has loosened up. Say after 10k miles. The Eco pro setting can give you a slight improvement, but the main improvement can come from driving it like daisy with a very light right foot. Fat chance of doing that if you are going to enjoy the car.

We've had ours for a few weeksnow, and the first two fill ups both recorded over 36mpg at the pump. Having said that, we followed the running in advice so haven't been flooring it everywhere.

Fantastic purchase!

Your MPG will depend on the frequency and length of your car journey. Diesels are very fuel efficient the longer you run them, and long journeys on the motorway return the best MPG.

If you do short and frequent trips before the engine has had enough time to warm up, diesel is no more fuel efficent than petrol.

My MPG has averaged 29 so far, but its probably because most journeys are shorter than 10 minutes and average 1-3 miles.

Enjoy!

I've had my 35d for two weeks now and have done a couple of longish trips in it. The average showing on the trip computer is about 37. On a run the Heathrow (75 miles each way), I achieved 40 mpg which i am quite happy with coming from a Land Rover Discovery!

That's a lovely looking X3 although I am going to be slightly bias as my next X3 that's on order is carbon black with those wheels. I plumped for the 20d as it is more than ample for me.

Sure I read somewhere that the 30d is about 8mpg worse than the 20d and i get between 43 and 46mpg so you should be around the 35-38mpg mark. Best I ever got out of the 20d was 54.1mpg on a 200 mile trip.

Lovely car!!!
i get 36 mpg when driving like miss daisy.
The Eco mode just dulls the throttle response down, and is good in stop start/slow traffic as by the time the car starts to pick up speed, it's time to stop, and so you use less fuel.
the other thing it does is use a more fuel efficient setting for things like the air con.
I find i can get very similar results by leaving her in comfort mode and driving in a relaxed manner.

Looks good, particularly with those 20" wheels.

35-37 mpg is my experience depending on time of year, nature of driving etc. Took about 3,000 miles for the car feel 'loose'. I wouldn't bother looking for Eco Pro mode, stick to comfort or sport. You don't get a 30d to drive like a daisy!

That look great, you can't beat a black X3.

I'm waiting for my X3 30d and I found out on Friday that it was in Germany awaiting a ship to the UK. Should be here sometime this week, so with a bit of luck I'll get it towards the end of next week.

Nice to hear about others getting their new toy, and hopefully everything's as good as you hoped it would be.

I have been really impressed with the car.
It's a first for me in that it's my first ever diesel, in the sport, sport + it picks its feet up but even in comfort it's still ok.
Like a lot of people it was a toss-up between a GLC and Q5, which are both equally nice cars. I traded in my Audi and got the best deal out of the 3 with BMW, I did think about waiting for the new one next year but I do like what I've got.
The carbon black is a really nice colour, when I picked the car up the sun was shining and the two tone blue/black is lovely.

As I understand it, they're shipped direct to Bremerhaven in Germany where they clear European customs, and from there each car is shipped to it's country of destination. I think for the UK they come via Southampton, but I've also heard that Immingham is sometimes used for those of us in the North.

Either way, my car arrived at the dealer yesterday so I'm going to pop in today with the retention document for my personalised registration. Fingers crossed they'll get it PDI'd ready for me to collect on Friday.

That's not band considering I only signed the order on 23/09.

That's what happened to my car. Shipped out of Charleston to Bremerhaven as EU port of entry and then into the UK at Southampton. I believe all X3/4/5/6 follow that route and Immingham is used for 1/3 series cars that are built in Germany.

If it's shipped through Bremerhaven, there will be additional EU fee in the future....

In addition, possibly, export fees will be slammed on goods being exported out of the US.

There will be exciting years to come....

Since I live on an island, we just blow the bridges and return to horse and cart.

Sometime in the future it could come direct to the UK, so the European democracy (interference we call it in the UK) will not apply.

I tried it several times when I was sitting in the car. Once I asked them to give me a route to Costco in Milton Keynes (I did not have the address). From what I remember, they sent a link to the place and I just followed the normal satnav as normal. I forgot the exact details of how it happened.

They will do things like book a hotel for a stopover whilst you are on your way to a far away destination.

Thanks,

I read a lot of people complain about the ride quality with the M Sport suspension but I've not found that myself. I guess it depends what you're used to and I'm fairly used to this type of set up, even on UK roads!!

Peter,

I guess I will have to find a far away destination.

A month after buying the car I was returning home from some meetings in Manchester. Boing! A massive hole in my rear tyre, and unable to pump it I up with my compressor.
What to do? What to do?
Rang the concierge service, they pointed me to the nearest BMW dealership, sent the destination to the car navigation so I could point the car in the right direction. Was very glad to have them there, and give me info whilst driving at 50mph down the M6
