This will be a major test of my patience.

First the extra cost of added options. Now I'm paying for psychotherapy. When does it all end?!

My 2.0d M sport is due for build on week 34, but recently I have started to wonder if I should go for a 3.0d instead. Would I be right in thinking that I would have to start completely from scratch with a new order if I want to change the engine spec?

Just thought I would ask before I ring the dealer...

.

When my order was delayed, I was given the option of switching to M Sport but never got as far as discussing dates. The key point here is the word switch like we wouldn't be starting over, so well worth asking. I'd be tempted by switching to the 30d too!

Thanks for the response. Sadly my sales guy isn't around until Friday so will have to wait until then. But if it is possible without causing a massive delay I will probably switch over to the 3.0d.

As good as the 20d is, the 30d will be AWSOME!

If you really want a 3.0D I wouldn't wait until Friday....someone else at the dealer will be able to help.

I probably will go for the 3.0 if I am not too late. If I can get out early I will call into the dealer on the way home from the Office.

One thing that interested me is that I got insurance quotes for both and the 2.0 came out at £283 and the 3.0 only £6 more at £289.

F25 X3 Automatic Gearbox

Hi Guys,

Just received a list of Factory Delays for the BMW X3 from my dealer, I have heard a lot of you saying that your F25's are taking longer to produce. The Automatic Gearbox has flashed up as being of limited availability and has a delay of 8-10 Weeks, my car has been delayed by 9 weeks and that is a 30d. Also, Cars with Power Bootlid and Aluminium Trim could face a set back of 12 Weeks.

Regards,

Dan.

I was told about the aluminium trim when I confirmed my spec a few weeks ago. My dealer was a bit concerned, but called me a couple of weeks after I made the changes to say that it had not moved.

He didn't say anything about the auto box though...

Rural Northamptonshire and I am getting into old fart territory I guess. My JCW MINI is more to insure than either of the X3's....

This is the Table I was Shown.

F25 205 – Automatic Transmission
Limited Availability - causing 8-10 week delay

F25 6NH - Bluetooth hands-free with USB audio interface
No Availability - Currently Being Sourced

F25 654 - DAB digital radio
Only Available with a navigation system or Media package (options 606, 609, ZXE or ZXF) - (This is just what it says in the Price List, no DAB without Media)

F25 4AD - Brushed Aluminium Trim
316 - Bootlid Operation, Powered
Limited Availability – causing 10-12 week delay

Bit of a bummer really as I was hoping to get my car in September.
