New X3 with "drivetrain" alert

Maybe someone has seen this and can give me a hint. Took delivery of 2016 X3d Dec. 10th. After 200Kms I started to get a alert upon starting that said: "...drive train issues and contact tech ASAP..." Has someone seen this in the past. SAV is at the dealer probably getting reprogrammed as I type. This is my third BMW and I find it unusual. Two previous were Euro built, this one is from Spartanbeug S.C.? BTW I really love this vehicle. It can take the very, very bad maintained roads in Quebec. With a set of Nokian winter tires on 18" wheels it's so much more comfortable on our deteriorating roads. But the bike paths are lovely.

Update:
Dealer changed the EGR. Two days later I tanked up with 53 liters of diesel at Costco. Next day I got the orange engine alert symbol. The vehicle seems to have lost pep!
