I always have my sport display on.
I'm glad the BMW engineered the engine to give u torque at low rpms.

So to answer ur question. No engine nor turbo lag at all. The torque is doing all the job, the most torque I ever use is from 80-125 at 20-60 HP

Nice! Good to know. I'll try that. Just the overall feel and sound of it on takeoff is kinda disconcerting.

My prob is, during cold start and driving for the 1st 10mins it sounds and drives like a diesel engine even when the windows are down.

After that, everything was smooth like butter

Ya. It definitely does have that diesel sound and feel. The feel does kinda go away after its warmed up. Still always sounds like one though. Oh well. What are you gonna do.

just did a freeway drive today for about 40 miles. with AC on, ~75mile/h. normal mode, I was able to get 26mpg on I-drive. looks like the local start/stop really kills mpg.

I don't think it's the start/stop it is the type of driving that permits start/stop.

local driving eats it up. not only i read some place it takes about 18 miles to get the engine oil hot, so in the meantime the engine is working harder. you not burning regular by some chance are you or got a load of bad gas? I get religiously 22-26 depending but must have got some bad gas as now im getting 14 with this tank.

While Eco-Pro is a nice addition to the X3 I'm not sure it's for everyone as it seems to severely limit the car's performance. Mileage will typically increase after the break in process but people need to keep in mind that the X3 is a 2 ton suv with full time awd, 240-300 HP, and drinks premium. I understand not everyone constantly needs the X3 to be at maximum performance but Eco-Pro just seems counterproductive.

I took my patience (avg speed at 56 mph) in a 80-mile trip (mostly highway) this weekend, and I got 34.9 mpg towards the end, not bad not bad.

Akview,
Awesome. I spent 20 years in North Pole. I'd absolutely run the parks up and highway 2 back down through Glennallen and Palmer. Too bad I'm not up there now or we could run it together!

@Beyu thanks for the video as this was my salesrep in Canada!

I picked up my 2.8 X3 from Jason on May 31st. Absolutely, love the vehicle, but the mileage after approx 150 miles of mostly highway is double the estimate...

The coming weeks, I will continue learning the different driving modes or ask Jason for help to post my experiences here.

My car had 20km on it when I took delivery last Nov. The reading was at about 13.5L/100km. I have reset the reading about two month ago. Now the car has about 8000km and the reading is at around 11.4L/100km. That is very close to my own calculation at the gas pump. I believe the initial high reading was because someone at the dealer either red-lined the car in the first 20km, or left it idled for a long period of time.
