Center air vent broken

Hi there, my 2014 X3 air vent track broke. Now two vent fins don’t open or close and are off the track in vent #2. The cheap plastic rail that goes up and down on the inside holding the fins in place broke. I started to pop off the center vent panel but the start/Stop button seems to be holding it in place too. Any ideas out there?

That entire trim piece is just clipped in, and will come out if you pull it directly out (towards the back of the car). The start/stop button, the hazard/lock button, and the temperature control dial all have plugs in them that you'll have to disconnect before you can remove the trim piece entirely, but the wires have enough length to pull it out and tilt it so that you can disconnect the wires.
