That's a good review; interestingly its the first time I've heard anyone not be impressed with the 35i acceleration and the ZF 8 speed.

Regardless I think the X3 35i is just an awesome SUV and the riding experience and emenities are a real joy. Sorry that some others are not having as much fun with there X3 as I am.

It's faster than the Cayenne and Cayenne S, faster than a 2010 335i, but it's not sporty enough for an SAV?

What is it you're looking for? What's missing?

I love mine and am thrilled by how much it reminds me of driving a 3 series sedan.

FWIW, I've never seen that guy rave about anything. He tends to whine no matter what he's reviewing. I respect that he's not just a "fanboy reviewer" like so many are these days, but he needs to spend more time talking about what he likes to balance what he doesn't like.

He also got it wrong about the Panorama moonroof not being part of a package. It is in the Premium Package.

The one complaint I tend to agree with is the lack of BMW Office support for more platforms - such as Android. They need to expand that with an update soon - unless they are oblivious to where the cell market is these days.

+1 Smartphones are no longer a new thing. They didn't even integrate the iPhone after previously (two years ago?) having touted their iPhone vehicle integration. Bluetooth for the calls and phonebook is great, but that's pretty much it. I guess 6NR, right . . . ?

I got a “sporty” 2010 X3 that I plan to trade in on my new F25.
Do you want to buy it?

I had no intention of trading it in so soon, but I made the mistake of going to the X3 event.
After spending some time driving the F25, there was no comparison between the first generation X3 and this new one. Yes, there’s a tad more lean in the corners, but I can still throw it around with confidence when I want. The vastly improved ride quality (for 99% of my driving) and other improvements are certainly worth that little tradeoff.

Brian Cooley isn't a car guy. He's a computer guy. His reviews of cars tend to be tech heavy, but dynamically deficient. He proves it again in this review.

I'm reading a lot of posts (and a few reviews) that talk about the F25 loosing it's performance edge. OK, prove it. Because the numbers certainly don't back that opinion up. Think the 8 speed auto box makes this car less sporty? OK, find me someone who can shift faster with a manual. Not going to happen. For that matter, find me an SUV that can do 0-60 in 5.5 seconds. Hell, it's faster than most sport sedans and more than a few coupes. And don't talk to me about body roll if you're testing a car without DHP. Anyone who is interested in performance is going to order DHP, so it's not an issue. Reviewers, and posters, need to remember a crappy ride and manual transmission do not automatically equal better performance. If you think it does, go buy an old VW bug. It's "sporty" as hell.
