New member intro and a sort of silly question

We picked up a unicorn of sorts a couple months ago. But it was exactly the X3 my wife wanted.
2005 Flamenco, black interior, sport package, 6MT, 59k miles and it came with weathertech mats and BMW load bars. Panoramic sunroof works but won't get used, unfortunately. I like how it works but like the E34 touring I had it's only a matter of time before it breaks.
Anyway, we have 6 Bimmers in the driveway. The wife has the Unicorn and an E36 M3 vert. I have a ZHP, E28 535i, and an E30 autox/track/fun car. My oldest son's E30 is parked here to spare it from the crazy Colorado weather.

So my silly question is, has anyone autoxed an X3 and how did you do? Reason is, if it's wet and chilly out wouldn't AWD do a better job?
I've seen a few X5s lapping Road Atlanta so I'm not that crazy, am I?
