New X3d in canada ordered- now delivered!!
Ordered a new X3 tonight and went with a diesel for the first time. This should make for a great long distance highway machine!
Alpine White Mocha Nevada leather with orange stitching Fineline Anthracite trim Premium package enhanced X Line Comfort access Rear view camera Park distance control front and rear Harman kardon Panorama sunroof Auto dimming mirrors Lights package Navigation Sirius XM Satin aluminum roof rails LED fog lights 19" wheels Automatic trunk Lights package Full active LED headlights High beam assistant Lumbar Sports seats Storage compartment package Speed Limit Info Connected Drive with ARRTI BMW online Advanced real time traffic Concierge Remote services Internet Connected drive services package Convenience telephony with smartphone connectivity My wife hated the M sport fascia, so no sport suspension for me unfortunately. I will say the base suspension rides and handles surprisingly well. Will need to swap on some summer tires as well at delivery as they would only configure for all seasons without m sport. Going to go non run flat Michelin pilot sport 3 likely. Need to find out about coding the lights to provide the full active high beam functionality of the European models Last edited by Canadian eh!; 03-28-2015 at 09:23 PM.. |

Congrats. Since you do a lot of highway km's, does it include US, if so HUD with Speed Limit Info will convert km to miles. Coders on the X5 have not coded for the European high beam assist where the beam is split.

Does the beam splitting not work with the LED lights ? Or is it a coding issue? |

Not worth the cost to get miles displayed in HUD for a few trips to US, worse now with cheaper loonie. HUD 8TH Special Order. = $1500, 400 + 400 = $2300 appx. However HUD is nice.
Coding or hardware. http://f15.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho...+assist&page=2 |

I might still go speed limit display, as I understand that gets the better camera, and I like how it mounts integrated, much cleaner than the inside the windshield on the mirror version. Can anyone confirm which camera you get? |

It's only a couple of months ( hard to believe it almost the end of January !) diesel build slots are tough, it will either be a February build, arrive mid April or a March build arrive mid May. My lease is up beginning of May, so dealer is angling for February. I hope to have confirmation on the build slot soon, they are confirming allotment today, they may have to horse trade with another dealer.

Congrats!!
The wait in Canada really sucks! I ordered mine 3 weeks ago and it won't arrive until around April 1! I'm curious what "better camera" you are after? Do you mean the integrated unit around the rear-view mirror? And how would it be better? I'm just curious because I also ordered the Premium Package Enhanced (although not ARTII) and I could add the same feature for $300... Although thinking about it as just showing the speed limit seemed like a waste of money. |

I could not get anyone to confirm if the x3 defaulted to the newer Higher res camera for every feature regardless, but on the f30 at least, the speed limit info gets the more integrated camera as it can do multiple things. I prefer the look of the more integrated camera. Whether it functionally is " better " for its purpose, I am not sure. For $350 I decided to add speed limit info and hope that gets me that camera. |

You guys are waiting to get X3 Diesels?.We got ours here in Toronto out of stock and had quite a few to choose from at the time that were reasonably equipped. We have just over 5000 kms on it and so far we are quite happy with it.In mostly urban driving with going downtown everyday the average fuel consumption so far has been 8.1 litres/100 which I think is great. So far it seemed like a good move to get but I really wish it was a 6 cylinder diesel as the 4 cylinder is coarse under load.
With the snows on it. Last edited by Gearhead999s; 01-31-2015 at 10:55 AM.. |

Great looking car ! X-Line trim, I like that.
The black wheels on the black car, well, that is a bit too much black for me. (but it's your car, and you must like it). The summerwheels are wonderful. I wish you many happy kilometers with it.

Different tastes on the wheels! The black winter wheels are 19 x 8.5's @ 35 P that I initially for my M4 but then I managed to get some silver wheels for my M4 at a better offset of 20P for it.I really do not like the wheels that came with the X3 but my wife likes them so I guess I am overruled

Gearhead, say nomore . I had to order a Melbourne red one , because my wife insisted on it !
What can you do ? You don't wanna sleep on the couch, right ? p.s. I like Toronto. My sister lives there, well in Brampton that is.

My current lease is not up until May, so took advantage of ordering one exactly as I wanted. Looks like parkview BMW? |

Funnily enough my wife fell in love with the red one too ... I'm glad I changed from the silver I originally ordered

I didn't think the 28d was worth the sacrifice in fun for the fuel savings, but then again this is going to be my car, not my wife's |
