Loud Beep
My car was setting outside all day and was covered with ice. After I cleaned the ice off the windows and lights and put the car in gear, it started beeping loudly, first intermittently and then continuously off and on for about 10 minutes. I called BMW Assist as the local BMW dealership had just closed. They told me they could hear the sound but didn’t know what was causing it and since there were no warnings displayed, I should be able to drive it. After I hung up, the beeping finally stopped. I called another BMW dealership 50 miles away. They told me that it might have been the PDC and the beeping was possibly caused by ice on the sensors. I want to believe this is true, but why didn’t the beeping stop when I put the car in park and why was the sound much louder and shriller than the normal beeping from the PDC? Has this happened to anyone else?

Sounds like PDC blockage on the front sensor. Perhaps you've never got close enough to hear Te penultimate-to-scuff beep
Try taping over the sensor and see if you get the same noise.

Thanks. I'll try that tonight. I back into the garage and shut the car off before closing the garage door, so I probably never did get close enough to hear it.
