BMW EV's are sitting on lots and Canadian dealers are desperate to give them away. Many different color and many different options to pick I never come across with BMW Canada that will offer that kind of low lease interest rate (1.99%). I think it tell you something

BMW Canada is offering the following for ICE cars for the same 24 months at 1.49%:

2024 X1 xiDrive28i
2024 X3 xDrive30i
2024 330i xDrive Sedan
2024 M440i xDrive Coupe & Cabriolet

These are all better rates for ICE cars than the 1.99% for EV's over the same 24-month term.

Frankly, I think this thread should be move to the Off-Topic board because much of the conversation has more to do with the debate about climate change than about actual cars.

If I have just one EV battery in the wagon I must placard all 4 sides of the wagon and I must have HAZMAT endorsement on my CDL as long as the battery weighs 1000 pounds or more. So why don't all EV's with a battery weighing 1000 pounds or more have placards on all 4 sides and the driver have HAZMAT endorsement on their license and follow all of the HAZMAT rules? The battery is just as dangerous or more so in the EV as it is in my wagon."

Livesey, who is from Wakefield, Massachusetts, and drove to Vermont in an EV on Monday to see the total solar eclipse, said her return home was made worse for her family — as well as other Tesla owners — when they all had to search for charging stations in rural areas.
And when they eventually did find a charging station in St. Johnsbury, Vermont, there were met with long lines of electric vehicles, she said.
“I got there with one mile only to find out there were about 60 cars waiting to be charged,” Livesey told the outlet.
The Livesey family reportedly helped a couple try to organize the lines by handing out numbers that made electric vehicle drivers wait their turn to charge.
The Livesey family ended up waiting more than four hours to charge their Tesla, and got home at 4:00 a.m. on Tuesday. They noted that the last ticket they handed out was number 189, and that they saw more people pulling up to the charging stations as they left.
