Happens a lot at WOT or high load high RPM scenarios. Id look into getting the FTP replacement aluminum charge pipes

Charge pipe is relatively easy and can be done without dropping the intercooler. Boost pipe is much more difficult and might require removing the water pump. I'm saving my boost pipe install for when I get a better intercooler.

You do not have to drop the intercooler but its so much easier if you drop it or at least loosen it to allow a little more play and flexibility. Boost pipe was easier than charge pipe IMO. Did not have to remove water pump on my N55.

Agreed, neither was too hard but dropping the intercooler is pretty easy and made it much easier. The only part I found interesting was that once installed, it still felt like the connection to the throttle body was loose. But I talked with another person who had done it and they said it was normal. So fired it up and it has been working great. Love not having to worry, and that it has a bung to install a meth nozzle should i ever decide to bite the bullet on that.

Its for heat expansion so it will tighten as it warms up. Its normal.
