Cargo net

I recently purchased on Ebay an "OEM cargo net" supposedly for the X3. When I got it, it turns out it is either one of those generic "universal fit" types or maybe just the wrong vehicle, because at each corner are 4 metal hooks that don't even begin to securely attach to the tie downs. I searched the BMW Store for the cargo net but the image is bad so I can't see what type of hooks or how it attaches to the 4 tie downs that attach to the rails. If someone has the original floor cargo net and can either describe or better yet, attach a photo of yours, then I can compare if to the multitude of "OEM, guaranteed to fit!!" X3 cargo nets listed on Ebay. So frustrating..... thanks!

I think you have the right net, you just need the lashing eyes.

This video by BMW shows how to use the net:

I have the 4 lashing rings/eyes. The metal hooks at the four corners of the net are small and can barely hold on. Unless it's constantly stretched/under tension, they will fall right off. Do you have the net and if so, can you take a picture of the attachment points/hooks/whatever it uses? Thanks!

So I just watched the video and got to see the hooks used on that net. They are large and look to be plastic. Mine looks nothing like that. I think the seller is claiming it's OEM/ORIGINAL when it's a cheap universal/generic fit. Time to request a return & refund.

This is exactly how my cargo net is too. Mine is 100% original with our x3. It is not good, and like you describe, can barely hold on. I went back to the video based on your comment in the next post. I see what you are saying. The cargo net in the video has larger plastic hooks. My guess is different cargo nets, or at least different hooks on cargo nets for different years, or perhaps the difference between what is sold in Europe vs. in the U.S.?

Anyway, my 2017’s original cargo net has the four small meal hooks that do no hold on well at all. Sorry to say, the seller sold you a legit OEM x3 cargo net, at least one version of one.

I'll definitely need the larger plastic hooks if it's even going to be functional. The seller has agreed to refund me and I'll return the net.
