Bmw x3 (f25) troubles in update maps

Hi

I just bought from a web page the maps to update my maps to 2021 (I have north america next 2013 and will update to 2021-1)

unfortunately this donīt work because i have only 1 USB in my car (central console)

the guy who sells me the maps told me that in my car should be a second USB in the glovebox but I already went to my BMW dealer and they told me that my car do not have a second USB

also the manual indicates that if I connect the usb in the central console it should work.

the think here is that I connect the USB with the maps and donīt happen anything. and the guy of the webpage do not give me more help.

any one knows how I can update the maps? what other way is so I can update my maps?

any ideas? does anyone have the same trouble?

my car is a 2014 here in Mexico but I beleive will be a 2013 in USA

thanks in advance

Your USB needs to be FAT32 formatted and all files need to be in the root of the USB with nothing else. You also must have a config.nfm file in the root or the car will not prompt an update.

If you're on Mac, MacOS will probably of placed hidden files on the USB so you should ensure non are present.

Here's a great guide on how to update the maps on your car: https://www.6post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1526116

Garage List
Try a different thumbdrive. For some reason, certain thumbdrives just are not compatible with the X3...just keep trying and make sure the files are in the root directory.

I always use the USB in the center console to update maps, so that is not your problem.

If you're using a 64GB flash drive, most likely it's not formatted as FAT32, which Windows won't allow... unless you download a free, simple utility that will force it into FAT32. https://fat32-format.en.softonic.com/

I don't believe the maps update will fit on a 32GB flash drive so stick with the 64GB.

I just did mine, 64gb 3.0. Cheapo ONN from walmart and it was formatted FAT32.

Extracted files/folders within the downloaded zip directly to the drive parent so there was no root folder.

Got picked up right away from the armrest USB.
