Bike rack options for f25?

Hi all just got a new bike. I wanted to go the hitch route, but it seems expensive to get it installed.

If anyone can recommend what's been working for them i'd really appreciate it. Thanks.

I went hitch route and installed the hitch myself with little issues at all following an etrailer video if I remember correctly. The hardest part was putting the bumper cover on which took 4 mins and one person to help so as to not scratch the paint. I too just got a new bike and hit the trail for the first time yesterday. My receiver came with rivets for the fender lining and was only about a hundred bucks from Curt. Any hitch mount rack needs coupled with a no wobble bolt/plate/ujoint unless its a really heavy Thule or high quality yakima. If going the roof route make use of a step stool and never buy the cheapest you see as it is not worth the risk. Read the 1 star reviews on Amazon first. Hope this helps.

I have the Kuat Beta and like it quite a bit: https://www.kuatracks.com/product/beta/

But it's a hitch mount, luckily the previous owner installed the hitch for me.

I transport my mountain bike with an S10 carrier, works awesome, required no modifications, takes a few seconds to load/unload it and my X3 stays clean

I've seen many people scratch their vehicle using one of those type units that hangs off the back with straps. My recommendation is a hitch mount, less likely to damage your vehicle, touchless, no straps to adjust and much more confidence it'll stay on there.

Keep in mind that one thing a good hitch mount gives you is the ability to swing the bikes out of the way to access the hatch. May not seem like a big deal but you’ll appreciate it when you’ve got the rack mounted and two bikes attached and suddenly remember you left something you need in the cargo area.

I have the Yakima RidgeBack 4 and very happy with it. Built like a tank. Easy to get the bikes on and off and they mount very securely.
