Hey guys! So I just finished installing my emtronica reverse camera “eBay camera” and everything works and looks great !

Except one small problem. When I go from reverse to drive the screen goes black until I get to 5mph. I assume this is the camera staying on like it would of originally but not displaying an image, can I code this speed perimeter out? Or perhaps one of the dip switches are set incorrectly?

Other than that one hiccup great camera for the money!

Fast update ! I ended up having the front camera enabled on the switch, now camera shows image until 5mhp yay!

1 = ON
2 = OFF

Can you put a link to the camera you used? I didn't find a camera with that name brand you listed.

Also, was the camera plug and play to the back of the stock head unit? I have navigation head unit, but no camera and want to add camera.

Very cool. I was just looking at their site today but at the 360 camera option. Can I ask why you didn't go for the full 360?

Did you buy it through eBay or directly from their site? I saw they are from Lithuania or something so I'm a bit hesitant to order at the moment...

Here is the link to the one I got, they are sold on eBay but it was cheaper directly from them.

Everything was plug and play and there was no coding required, I did the job in a few hours time the only problem I had was the dip switches but I messaged the web site and they responded immediately! I will say they give you online directions and they are almost useless... so far I’m very happy and it works great!

I did see the 360 but it was out of my budget and I don’t have PDC unfortunately.

I purchased directly from the web site and it came in a week! I also read people have a hard time getting in contact with them through eBay. But they were very fast to respond through the actual site via email.

Thanks for the info! Still on the fence with them, how did you send payment to them for your own peace of mind? I'm thinking of PayPal-- maybe it adds a layer of security ?

When I purchased they gave the option for PayPal, I was I little iffy at first but they sent me a tracking number within 24 hours! And like I said the vendor responded very promptly to my emails so I felt comfortable.

Thanks for the info, the cameras i was looking at didn't include the module or adapter thats included with this kit, so glad I didnt pull the trigger on one of those.

Hi, just read this so I thought I’d reply. I purchased backup camera retrofit kit from Emtronika and did everything as instructed, the kit didn’t come with a manual but I messaged them and they sent me one.. I have 2015 M235i, it came with 6.5 screen but I upgraded it to 8.8 from same car and it works fine. After I stalled the camera and plugged in the module the camera doesn’t come on in reverse, I can’t get it to work no matter what dip switches I try.. they told me to test the camera with the blue trigger wire it comes with, I tried that too but nothing happens on the screen… my car doesn’t have navigation or pds either. Any suggestions? Did you need to find a reverse wire for it to work?
