When should I expect the car?, this is my first custom build from BMW? Car is to be delivered to dealer on Long Island, NY.

Also already looking into mods and doesn't seem like there are too many available...any opinions?

Sorry about your 435, but Congrats on the 40Mi, it's a nice build!

So what kinda mods are you looking for... some visual mods maybe take a look at the Carbon Spoiler and Black Kidney Grills.

How do I call BMW Genius??
Reason I ask is I've ordered a 2017 X4 28i and I've been waiting almost over six weeks and haven't even heard a production number!

I had a production number within 12 hours of placing my order. Update to original post: estimated completion date moved to September 12th

Here's how you call BMW genius:

Add this number as a contact in your phone and replace the X's with your production #

1 (800) 831-1117,,2,,,XXXXXXX,,1
Call the contact and just listen, it should give you pretty accurate info on your vehicle status (24-48 hours lag time I have heard)

If you want more info, say customer relations after to speak to a human being

Yeah your right I dont think theres too much out there for mods at the moment. If your looking for cosmetics stuff im sure there are lots of options out there i.e rims, spacers, lip spoilers, for interior there are some carbon fibre trim and shift knobs out there (oem)

For bolt on performances im sure there lots of intakes, downpipes and other things out there as our engine is also a N55 so all the other mods under the hood of a 135,335,435 etc should fit.

Anxiously awaiting this X as I opted not to drive around the Fiat my insurance company offered me, so I've been borrowing my brother's Rubicon when he's not using it for now.

Production completion is scheduled for tomorrow Sept 12th, Anybody have experience with this that can help me estimate a delivery date? Car is going from SC to Rallye BMW Long Island.

What I'm hoping is the car will be:

--Completed Monday (9/12)
--Shipped Tuesday (9/13) (not sure if they use truck or train, anybody know?)
--Arrives at the dealer by Thursday (9/15)
--Ready for pickup Friday/Saturday (9/16,9/17)

Opinions on this (hopeful) timeline?

My advice: Add one week to your (overly optimistic) time line - and be pleasantly surprised when your dealer calls around Sep 22nd.

Mine has sat "at the port" for about a week awaiting rail transport to California. Pretty sure East Coast cars go from the plant to a VPC before being released to the dealer who then takes another couple of days.

One more thing; Your CA should be able to provide you with actual VIN by now. Enter that VIN at BMWVin.COM to discover your actual production date as well as full specs. It will show the date production was completed.

Did rallye provide that info or was it bmw genius?

you should be able to pick up your car by end of the week.
It doesnt take long to prep the car once it arrives.

i would call salesperson, she/he can tell you most accurate status. Probably on it way to dealership.

Update:

This morning my salesperson called me and told me my car was released to the trucking company and should arrive tomorrow (friday 9/16). He said depending on whether the car arrives with the MSO (title) or not, i should be able to pick it up Monday (if it arrives with MSO) or thereafter next week.

Meant to edit this last night, car arrived at dealership Friday without a title and will be available to pickup tomorrow the 20th, that makes it 2 weeks 6 days from order to pickup
