when do they allow you to bring in your car for service?

Random question but for the service mileage indicator, when is the soonest you are allowed to bring in the vehicle for servicing? The rear brake indicator now is <1000 miles left, so the indicator changed from OK to a triangle icon. I'm guessing that means its ok to bring in? Tried doing a search for this but had a hard time finding exactly what I am asking about.

Call your dealer. They will measure, and either replace or reset.

When you see the red triangle, you can bring it in.

Last time I got close to needing routine service I called the nearest dealer (Burdick Syracuse, NY) and they were not all concerned with the exact indicated mileage. If I remember right I called to make the appointment when the car indicated something just under 1000 miles and there was no problem at all.

Also, since I mentioned Burdick (they are not the selling dealer) their service department has been professional and certainly custromer friendly. With respect to quality of service I can only say they readily took care of my issues and I have seen no further problems. In one case when I complained about a driveability and throttle response issue they updated the software with no pushback. So far I am very pleased how they have taken care of me. Interestingly, their sales department appears just the opposite to me and when I called prior to buying the car the salesman appeared so uninterested in selling me a car I simply no longer considered them as the place to buy the car even though they are the closest dealer.

1 year + a day of the last service date, or if you actually hit the mileage interval.

Yeah when I click the icon it says schedule a service appointment now that it's under 1k miles before requiring service. I've had the issue that is extremely annoying where they say no you're not ready yet for service even though it says I am.
